Mountain County Park

Description

Mountain Park not only offers a beautiful area for picnicking and family reunions, but it has also been placed on the National Register of Historic Sites as a result of the 1976 Archaeological Survey.
Artifacts and cultural data from inhabitants dating back to 500 BC were found in the survey, making this park the site of the oldest human dwelling ever found in the State of Minnesota. The results from this discovery are on display at the Science Museum of Minnesota in St. Paul.
