Presenting SHAKE, RATTLE & ROLL…ROCKIN’ MUSIC THROUGH THE AGES, on April 26-28 and May 3-5. Friday and Saturday evening shows are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees are at 2:00 p.m. Box Office opens one hour prior to each performance.

The Al Opland Singers proudly present their annual spring show celebrating many different types of music across many different decades. We start this show with “It’s a Grand Night for Singing”, which sets the stage for a show bringing pure enjoyment to audiences of all ages. The power of music is strong, diverse, thoughtful and deep, and evokes memories of times that stirs in the hearts of many.

We have medleys that reflect the vibrant enthusiasm and energy of the ’60’s, featuring a song from the Beatles, that famous group from England…the incorrigible, madcap Beatles. Our group takes the audience back to a different era with “Yesterday”, the inspired break-up song, as well as showcases the Beatles’ first American number 1 hit, “I Wanna Hold Your Hand”.

The show travels through the ’50’s, with the men entertaining the audience with “Blue Suede Shoes” and a folk medley of “This Land is Your Land”. The women will share their talents with delightful songs from the medley “For Women In Love”, highlighting “I Love How You Love Me” and many more. The Al Opland Singers do more than singing, bringing energy to the stage with fun choreography and dancing in “Shake, Rattle, & Roll” and the worldwide hit, “Lollipop”, which is sure to bring smiles to faces in the audience.

The ’60’s and ’70’s also brought us the distinctive “Mamma Mia”, melodic “Scarborough Fair”, well-known “Sound of Silence”, the light and fresh “Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In”, and the best-selling single, “Love Will Keep us Together”. A guitar rendition of “Johnny Be Goode” is sure to inspire the rock and roll dreamers and get a rise out of the crowd as well.

SHAKE, RATTLE & ROLL…ROCKIN’ MUSIC THROUGH THE AGES will take the Pipestone Performing Arts Center stage on April 26, 27, 28 and May 3, 4 and 5. Friday and Saturday evening shows start at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday matinees are at 2:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling the Box Office (located in the Pipestone County Museum) at 507-825-2020, or by purchasing them online at www.pipestoneperformingartscenter.com. Tickets for adults are $17 and students are $7.

This show has songs that will entertain all ages with a wide range of styles and genres of music, showcasing our performers’ talents through solos, small groups and dance numbers. We invite you to join us for our wonderful 2019 spring show. Enjoy, sit back, and get ready to clap your hands, tap your toes, and sing along with memorable music that will make you feel energized and alive!
